Hofstadter’s Law: “It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take this into account.”

As humans, we have a tendancy to overestimate ourselves and the speed of our progress. Then things get delayed. Disappointment about the achievements come into mind.

However, we can also combine the above law with Gates’ Law.

Gates’ Law: “Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years.”

We should move on, get going, think and put things to action. Even if it takes a bit longer, if the effort is in the right direction the results in the longer term can be massive.
